I am a member to several other boards, although this is the only credit related one, and I have seen many fictitious post written by authors to try and get a rise out of the group. 9 out of 10 times it works.

I love to buy things but I'm not buying this......
Just my opinion on the matter.

I have been a member for quite some time along with LKH, and have been following his story throughout, his has NO reason to make things up and is not trying to get a rise out of anyone.

No, I think LKH is very reliable. He has been here a long time, and I believe this.

However, hearing someone say they don't believe it is a good indicator of how ridiculous it was.

Re: This board is being watched

To reiterate the wonderful previous posts on this subject, I want to remind everyone that this is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA we can SAY ANYTHING WE WANT! Especially about a company that we don't have a choice about dealing with. We can't just say "I'm not going to do business with TU!" We can't. Our credit, our success in this world, our ability to get a house, to give our children better lives, is in THEIR HANDS. I read all these posts about people having problems with them, and this board really helps them. Knowledge is powerful, and we are getting too powerful. This board takes the power out of their hands and puts it into ours. Remember your freedom. Freedom is why we live here. This issue goes deeper for me. I think that we should have a RIGHT to make sure our reports are accurate. JUST LIKE WE HAVE A RIGHT TO SHARE OUR EXPERIENCES WITH OTHERS.

Uh Oh! I hear the "TU gestapo" knocking and I haven't even finished! Oh, but I forget, they are everywhere, they are watching me right now! I'M NOT PARANOID, JUST SARCASTIC!

How does everybody like my new bbs nickname? :-)

I decided it was probably best not to use my real name here after all. After all, I may decide to bring a legal action against some entity at some point, and I'd like to be able to discuss it here without worrying too much.

Sincerely yours but now incognito,

Re: This board is being watched

You guessed right, Mom, lol. :-)

Here's my thinking...

1) Paranoia can get the best of anyone -- even psychologists, lol. It's probably a good idea not to worry too awfully much.

2) At the same time, it's a good idea not to use your real first and last name, or perhaps even initials, on public discussion boards.

3) If you're likely to be involved in a legal proceeding, it's probably an even better idea not to use your real identity when publicly discussing the pending case.

Thoughts?

100% CORRECT (INCLUDING CREDIT LIMIT) WOULD SOLVE TRANS UNIONS PROBLEMS...but for some reason they DON'T understand 100% CORRECT...and they have a PROBLEM UNDERSTANDING THE CONSUMER USUALLY DOES NOT WANT POSITIVE ACCOUNTS DELETED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: This board is being watched

I use my real name because I will not let them take away my Constitutional Right to Freedom of Speech. I don't say anything that isn't factual/documented.

When I stopped posting during Discovery phase of my case it was to protect innocent consumers who had contacted me since Fleet was making a Motion to have my hard drive (as well as all email) turned over to them. Until it was researched and I felt comfortable they would not be allowed to infringe on my right to speak truthfully and freely, I kept quiet. I don't think the Judge would have allowed it had it gone that far. My silence wasn't due to anything I was hiding, I just didn't want to take a risk I was betraying anyone's confidence.

I am not aware of any case where a corporation has been allowed this intrusion of privacy WHEN it ONLY pertains to an innocent consumer and their 1st Amendment rights. (other than when it relates to employee/employer, etc) I don't think they had any right whatsoever to my personal mail. They (we believe)just wanted it to learn about possible other consumers who were suing, thinking about suing, my confidential discussions with attorneys, reporters, consumers while strategically trying to intimidate me. Not going to happen.

I would have... and still would appeal to the Supreme Court if necessary because I believe in my right (and yours) to privacy.
The only way we will ever make the necessary changes and attempt to even the playing field is to speak our voices... That's all we have. Keep talking and talking and talking until the right people listen!

Greg,

Saw a post of yours and thought I would let you know that TransUnion is offering a TransUnion credit score to all consumers not just California. It is an internal scoring model that is based on the credit data.

Our range is from 150 to 950. The score page is delivered with the credit report. It will have up to four explanations as to why the score is not higher.

Please visit our website to review further.

Re: email, Trans Union

OK I admit it. It was me all along. It all started on a coffee break at work all day. All I could think about was how you folks send in your frivolous disputes to us hard working letter openers all the damn time. It was killing me in more ways than one. My hands were becoming cracked and broken. The letter opening was giving me the worst paper cuts ever. ANYWAY, there I was sitting at my coffee break reading my book "Anthony Robbins Personal Power" and it all came to me. I am going to empower myself. I immediately did a search on the web for credit related message boards. It was the perfect combination for a CREDIT SUPER HERO! I could open letters to all of your frivolous disputes by day and at night I would become a prowler, whose only meaning in life was to discourage you stupid consumers. After all, you guys were making my job harder each and everyday and I wanted to put a stop to you folks educating yourselves. We used to sit around, drink coffee and eat Krispy Kremes all day. Not any more, we have been put to work and I have lost over 40 lbs. We used to laugh at your disputes and throw them in the trash. We would just send you a generic response letter and that would be the end of it. Now I have to call my supervisor at least once an hour. He hates my questions and gets sick and tired of calling our legal department for the answers. I am thinking about either going back to my old job as at McDonalds' or maybe I would be better off supporting myself as a bill collector. After all, I have learned all the passive aggressive behavior necessary to perform all types of annoying jobs. Maybe I will become a telemarketer. Any suggestions?

Daddygo (cant use real name, afraid of sometype of consumer retaliation. I can't keep up!!!)

Re: Trans Union

I'm proud of you guys.

Keep talking back to Trans Union, everyone! Their only power over you lies in their moral bankruptcy--the fact that they won't hesitate to publish lies about you. Once you face that threat and publicly expose it, it doesn't work anymore.

Collectors can trash your credit report all they want, but once you overcome any guilt based on the false idea that it's your own fault, you can fight back with confidence. Remember this: the fact that you haven't paid all your bills in the past doesn't ever justify anyone making false statements about you. If they lie about you, then they're lower than the lowest deadbeat.

Re: Trans Union

RichGuy,
I agree. Besides who ever made the credit industry the judge and jury over our lives.

Top ten things you cant get without credit

1.YOU cant get an apartment
2.You cant get a house
3.You cant get a job (in certain instances)
4.You cant get insurance (in certain instances)
5.You cant get utilities (in some instances)
6.You cant get a car
7.You cant get a rental car
8.You cant get a movie rental card
9.You cant get a Date
10.You cant supersize a value meal

Who are they to deprive us with there rules? I didnt agree to them. They arent even really regulated that well. The FTC is a oversized bureaucracy. They cant keep up. The Credit Reporting industry is a libelous joke. They have no code of conduct except for a generic and open ended bunch of writings called the Fair Credit Reporting Act. If you ever want to get a good laugh, just read the sections on verification. They are a scream.
