Bummer ;(

However, if you'd like, you can call me in Atlanta and I'll be your Platinum Concierge... just add me on as an au and we'll be rolling ;)

Just wondering: would they have upgraded you to Gold? (or is that similar to the Plat issue)... and is Gold even worth it?

Sorry about the smoke and mirrors... but you're still getting lots of MRs with the little green card ;)

Just take heart: anybody reading this thread today probably thought, "Whoa, what the %#@ is up with Doc today?" and they almost certainly didn't think anything bad about you. This was Doc running amok, pure and simple.

Moreover, MP$40 was nothing but gracious with me -- despite the obvious fact that my emotions were doing the talking today. I'm a long-time MP$40 fan, as a few people know here. MP$40: please accept my apology (even though I certainly understand if you don't) for all the reactivity, some of which spilled on you today. :(

I'm usually paper-trained, but today I definitely needed to be kennelled.

Doc

P.S. I'll get back to normal quickly.

P.P.S. A reasonable question for me would be: Gee, Doc, if you hate AmEx so much, why the hell do you carry one of their cards? Hypocrisy? Hyperbole? Lunacy? I deserve all those labels tonight.
Doc,

Thanks! We all have our times to get fired up! Like I said, I know your style, so no harm, no problem! Just wanted to be sure *I* didn't piss you off :)

Re: Dogman....what happened w/Amex

Hmmmm....

I'm surprised at the vitriol some have expressed.

Amex has *ALWAYS* (all ways?) treated me well.

My only complaint is with the credit reporting department, which was totally fine until the new
numbering system completely discombobulated
them and caused them to delete and distort
and otherwise screw up their previously error-free
reporting.

I too, am irritated that they misled Dogman. That sucks. A "higher-up" should have stepped up and
confirmed the promise the rep made.

But I guess I have some sympathy for the company. A bad profit year *may* have marred their customer service. I definitely detect a subtle shift.

But I remember that the Amex Building was across the street from the World Trade Center and I know that they lost people in the attack. That had to
shake the company.

Amex exists on its promise of superior
service. So, it is up to them now to step up to the plate.

I hope that this board IS being watched and that
some Amex rep will read Dogman's saga and issue
him that card.

He deserves it.

Re: Dogman....what happened w/Amex

THX for your thoughts Calypso - actually the hardest part was letting this board know that I got bounced - but it is part of the game.

You are correct - AMEX should do the right thing - but they won't.

best regards - doggin it anyway - dogman
