Is anyone else having trouble with MBNA? I have a problem with them crediting my account as soon as the check is received by them.

I thought I heard about a class action suit against them for doing this. Am I right?

    Please let me know.

I've never had a problem with MBNA. They've always posted payments promptly.

MBNA now has on-line payments and account information if you wish to use that service. I believe the URL is:

    http://www.mbnainternational.com/

I'm not aware of any class action lawsuits against them like the ones underway against Providian and First USA and the ones brewing against CCB.

This doesn't mean that other people are not experiencing the same kind of difficulties that you are. Perhaps others with the same problems with MBNA would post here and you can contact each other.

I'm also not aware of any problems with MBNA. Anything I've read about posting delays has mentioned Providian and First USA. I know that my payments usually post within 4 days of mailing.

You might want to check out www.mbnanetaccess.com to see about doing on-line payment of your account which might solve the payment delay problem for you.

    Good luck.

I recall few horror stories involving this bank, though their was one in question where an individual who had cancelled his card kept getting bills from MBNA over a recurring insurance bill.

MBNA actually made the ridiculous claim that a merchant can keep billing a closed account even after being informed numerous times by victim in question to not do so.

At the time I read the nightmare story it had still not been resolved. MBNA refused to reimburse the indivdual and was reporting delinquincy it was headed to court.

If this is so then this company has a massive inflexible bureaucracy and a very careful inspection of their rules and regulations.

I have had tons of problems with MBNA also! They have no grace period which is terrible! I recieve a bill only every other month, I have called numerous times to get this resloved and.....nothing still getting a bill every other month. Since I am ALWAYS behind with them due to NEVER recieving a statement on time, I do checks over the phone so I never have had a late posting problem.

Has this happened to anyone else with MBNA?
stu4runner-do you get your bill on time?

    Thanks!!

Rather than doing checks over the phone, you might consider using their on-line account review and payment site.

    http://www.mbnanetaccess.com

You can register all of your MBNA cards there. It will also eliminate the problem of not getting statements. You can view them on line. You can register your checking account and pay your bill directly online.

I thought I just paid off my balance in full, but much to my dismay, the balance on the statement is not the payoff balance.
How they can expect somebody to have a balance after you have paid your balance in full sounds suspect, and if nothing else unethical. No grace period for payoffs.
I have also had a problem with minimum payments not covering all charges and therefore have been charged over the limit fees. In short They Suck.

yes, so much trouble, and I have a feeling its the tip of the iceburg, mbna is currently billing me for transactions that have yet to occur, from a balance transfer. I have been trying to track the $ down for three months with no help from their "customer service reps" I just get bounced around on the phone untill, I get the endless hold signal. Its so bad I feel like Im deeling with a company comprised of coke heads, sitting around an abandoned house, with a bunch of telephones.

I have a feeling j.edgar is a mbna "plant" in this forum, the name sounds as fake as the names that the service reps give you over the phone. In fact some of their service reps refuse to give their names, probably for fear that its the attorney general calling.

For your information Steve, or whatever your real name is, I do not work for MBNA, I work in the publishing industry. The only relationship I have with MBNA is that of a satisfied customer. And yes, "J. Edgar" is a pseudonym. I noticed that you didn't put your last name on your posts 'Steve', so I really don't think you are in a position to criticize my choice to use a pseudonym.

I'm sorry you guys have had so much trouble with MBNA. I'm not a MBNA plant, just a satified customer. I had a line of credit with them, and they also gave a Mastercard with the same credit limit as the line of credit (it's listed on my credit report as two separate accounts). I've never had this happen before, but who's complaining. I love their site, which allows you to see all transactions, and download your statement into Quicken or Money 99. AND I can pay my bill online. When I transferred the balance to Nextcard (which offered me a lower interest - after the introductory period, than I was paying with MBNA), MBNA lowered my interest rate to match the rate of Nextcard.
