DP, WE HAVE A PROVIDIAN CARD, IN 3YEARS
WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY TROUBLE, GRANTED THERE
RATE IS ALITTLE HIGHER. BUT THERE PEOPLE
ARE FRIENDLY AND TRY TO HELP. THERE NOT LIKE
CROSS COUNTRY BANK AND OTHERS WHERE THEY TELL YOU ONE THING THEN DO THE OPPOSITE.
THAT IS JUST MY OPINION. THEY ALSO ARE
GOOD AT INCREASING YOUR LIMIT WHEN YOU PAY ON TIME, AND PAY MORE THAN THE MINIMUM.

I would suggest that you contact Providian directly. Their website is at www.providian.com. The also have a product called Aria, which is at www.aria.com.

I'm not certain if they offer business credit cards. I know that American Express now offers small business credit cards, including their revolving product, Optima. You will need to have excellent credit yourself in order to the get a card from Amex.

By the way, this is a board to discuss credit issues and is not affiliated with any particular bank or other grantor of credit.

watch for interest rates, annl fee, late fees, over limit fees, what happens if you happen to be late on a payment, grace periods, how do they compute interest,

    Hi:

Here is the skinny on the Providian pre-approved offers that I get in the mail. They are of certain varieties, i.e., different APR's, different credit limits. Most that I have seen have two disturbing clauses that should be wary of.
    1. They offer no grace period for purchases; i.e., if you purchase something today, interest starts accruing at the day of transaction, so there is no way of paying it off without paying interest.
    2. They have no "annual fee" but they have some fee for some service that is 7.95 per month or 96 if annualized.
If you read the fine print, it also says that if they increase the credit limit, they have the right to impose annual fees.

I can maybe live with clause #2, but #1 is a no brainer. Toss the offer in the can. I have nothing against Providian, its just that the offer is "ridiculous."

    Happy hunting.

    Aria rewards program - beware

I've been using the card for about 4 months now, and been very curious to know how many mypoints points i currently have. Well here's the low down on Aria visa reward system. Unlike many CC companyies who tie in their reward programs without you having to set up anything, this one just happen to do so. They don't actually tell you, so you'd think all you have to do is use the card and the rewards account will be set up.
They were suppose to have mailed me a username and pswd when i was approved for my card, and then I was suppose to register the rewards account myself. So I'm hoping now they actually kept a tally of how much i spent and credit me all my points.
Another think about aria visa. When you receive your monthly statements, you will only see a statement for the minimum amount you owe. To get the full balance you owe you must look at the total spent. The total balance is not listed on the pay slip like most CC bills.
5 points per dollar spent is tempting but read the fine print on their entire website before signing up. If you can't get the free no anual fee card then it's not really worth it. Go with the yahoo rewards card by first usa or bmg card by wachovia bank.
