Reducing any written document to an affidavit, signed under penalty of perjury, becomes as valid as court room testimony.<bump>Whats the phrasing for making this into an affidavit?

I'm not a lawyer but I beleive if you go to court and are placed under oath, and produce the documents, and attest to their accuaracy, origin, etc. then they are admissible "on the face"Originally posted by crowmom

well, i'm thinking about how it would be more beneficial to have some proof that the conversation was memorialized on a certain date...one that was only a couple of days after the conversation actually took place... having it notorized would prove that.
WOOOPS,
Sorry CM.
I'll go dig it up.

thanks butch. My dad's a notary, so I knew the attestation statement already.
what i want to know is, how does one make a document into an affidavit? Just by putting the word "AFFIDAVIT" at the top and maybe a line at the bottom that reads: "I certify under penalty of perjury, the foregoing is true and correct." ??
(or something like that)
??

Yes. That's perfect.
Affidavit of Mrs. XXXXXX X. Crowmom at the top.
"I certify under penalty of perjury, the foregoing is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief."
At the bottom
