I saw that on TV last night. Sickening.

All because the CRA's think that real security would lower their revenues. Notice that you and I, and even the banks, pay the price for identity fraud. But the CRA's never have to pay a cent.

It is much more twisted than that. The most disturbing thing about ID theft, is CRA's actually MAKE MONEY ON IT! They know ID theft is a big problem with consumers, and have positioned themselves to capitalize on this.

According to Experian (North America) CEO Donald A. Robert:

"ConsumerInfo.com (acquired by Experian), contributed 11% of Experian's growth over the 12 month period. Aided by growing concerns over identity theft, the division sold over $123 million dollars of product to consumers during that time. More than 1.4 million Americans have bought products from Experian through the internet."

I think the laws should be revised to crank down on ID theft and let consumer's have some peace of mind, without increasing the profits of the CRA's.

    Today's cat Haiku

    the rule for today
Touch my tail, I shred your hand
    New rule tomorrow

Appropriate for today (for me). I have 4 feral rescues in my bathroom. (mom and 3 babies) I need thicker gloves.

Wonder what welding gloves cost? Less then stitches I'm sure.

Reminds me of when I first met my dh. Always trying to make conversation with me at work, he asked: "Where did you get those scratches on your arm from?"

Since I really wasn't interested in dh at the time, I replied in my stiffest most serious voice "Self-mutiliation." I thought that would scare him off. Instead, he just smiled and said, "It's from your cat." I just started laughing and so did dh, and in some way I liked him a little more so because it seemed, he too liked cats.

In any case Rhondak, keep plenty of antibiotics and band-aids handy with those kitties:)

Remember that even network marketing companies are now getting in on the action. It seems that Pre Paid Legal Services is offering a service that will go right along with their other program. It will help you repair and defend your credit rating if at all necessary, an all inclusive package for the paronoid consumer..This stuff is junk as far as im concerned..

    Yeah. Definitely.

Had to take them all to the vet today. Had to catch them because the momma was injured. I thought her leg was broken but it turned out it was dislocated at the hip. I caught every cat in the neighborhood before I caught her. (the trap works good!)

Took them all to vet today. Babies have upper respiratory infections. I have to give THEM antibiotics for a week.

Humane Society here is fantastic. They paid the entire vet bill. They had pre-approved me for the momma thinking she might need surgery on the leg, but since she didn't, it paid for all the kitten meds.

They told me today that if I take care of the fleas, they'll pay for the vaccinations! WooHoo!

Yes, I'd recenly heard that Experian bought this credit 'help' company. And guess where I got my second ever in life 3 in 1 report? Could barely understand it ( or the other 3 in 1 that came from Providian as a gift (!), A lot that would have helped was missing. So this likely gave them access to my other two "big three" reports? What a scam. Whether or not I can actually tell what they do with all that info. Seems like such contradictory business holdings shoud be illegal. At the very least full disclosure ie, aspirin by Bayer, acetaminophen by Tylenol, ConsumerInfo.com by Experian CRA and so on...

Wouldn't it be great (for us, not the CRAs) if they passed a law saying everyone was entitled to their report AND SCORE free at least once a quarter. Then if there were problems, follow ups would be free.

Somehow, I bet the reports would get better.
