I have two questions. Can a creditor levy a prepaid debit card? (such as the kind at Wal-Mart). I need to pay some bills online, but can't use my regular check card since a creditor got a judgment against me and levied my bank account for thousands of dollars (that I obviously don't have).

Also, I'm currently unemployed and interviewing for jobs. Does anyone know if creditors can garnish your wages in the state of California, and if so, how much for?

Thanks so much for your help!

IF they find out who issued the
    prepaid debit card they might.
IF they find put where you work they can initiate a wage garnishment. I think here in California the max % is 25 % of your net pay.

I don't really know how they can garnish a prepaid debit card. They'd have to prove not only who is using it, but whose money paid for it.

And wage garnishment depends on the state. Some states don't allow it at all, and the states that do allow it have varying rules on how much can be garnished.
