Well, 6 months out of college and it is time to take my finances into control. I just got all of my credit reports from the individual bureaus. Current Scores: EXP: 577 EQ: 546 TU: 580 Goals: 1. Get rid of the CO status. Currently have 5 with EQ (2 of these are the same account w/ 2 different CA's), 3 with EXP and TU. 2. Get rid of late payment remarks. 3. Raise score to minimum 650 within one year. So where to start? I would love to receive some advice as to where I should maybe start. If you need any extra information please post in here and I will then reply with the needed information. I could pay for a few of those chargeoff's just to make it simple. Are there any of those listed such as CBCS, Risk Management Alternative, CFC Financial, IC Systems, or La Chapelle Credit Services that are hard to get deleted without payment? Since they all only total about $180.00 I could make the payments.
Re: Re: 6/01/04: Start of new credit life!! Unless you get payment in exchange for deletion in writing these negs will stay on your reports for 7 years thus jacking you with over charges on loans and insurance which could add up to a tidy sum over 7 years. ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> ><- <>- ><- <> ~~~ ><- <>- ><- <> Never read the fine print. Re: Re: Re: 6/01/04: Start of new credit life!! lbrown59 I do understand the consequence of having these CO's on my report for 7 years. I will not pay these without having deletion in writing. Do we have a letter here for a sample to use in this cause? Should I still go through validation before I pay these off for deletion?
Re: Re: Re: 6/01/04: Start of new credit life!! Always go for validation first. If they can't validate, they have to remove it, and you pay nothing. If they commit violations, you sue them, get it removed, perhaps get money as well. Don't close any more accounts. You need length of history on open accounts, and you need the credit limit for your ratios. Just "sock drawer" the cards, maybe use them once every few months for gas or something, make sure you pay it the next month. That way they're open and active and will be an asset.
