I've got a friend who just pulled her CR and found that it has a lien listed. This is the FIRST time she has seen or heard anything about it!!! It has the date, case number, amount, and it says something about Class-state; Released. Can someone tell me what that means? Also... what is a good website to research about this?

Since she is in the blind and I am too.. can someone tell me what her next step should be?

    Thanks

    Is your friend in Cal.?
If so,there was a class action sit from 2000 that was just recently completed. It appears a bunch of liens were incorrectly filed without proper notice, they were all released. Your friend can check the County records on line for info on her case.

Whychat, do you have a link to any info. on this case?

Do you remember if the liens were filed in 2000 without proper notice or the case was settled in 2000?

Also, were the liens released, or removed? It seems if they were improperly filed, they would be removed.

I happen to have a California tax lien filed in the year 2000 and am trying to get this lien removed, any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I know she wished the case was in CA! It's not.... it's in SC.

What are the procedures you must take to file a lien?
