I have a Sears Account that says "Account transferred or sold" How easy would it be to get this off my credit report? Would I just write Sears and can someone point me in the direction as to what letter to send? Thank you, me
Sears is a nasty one to try and get off - I've disputed atleast 3 times and it still says "charge off, transferred or sold" If anyone knows how to remove this thing, please let me know. Thanks, Sal
Well who was it sold to and transferred to? Basically if they don't own the debt how can they legally post it?
It doesn't say who it was sold or transferred to. I am just wondering how they last reported this in 5/2002, when it has been sold to another lender since like 1999. Do I have grounds for something here?
Helpwanted, I agree with you - it's pathetic how sears can continue reporting the debt (every month I might add) even AFTER they sold it years earlier. Here's the kicker; I've deleted the CA that purchased this debt off all my reports - but sears happily continues reporting it as if it's they're duty to society. From what I'm told, they CAN continue reporting this as long as they state a $0 balance and report it as sold/transferred. If anyone else has some other input on this issue please speak up. Thanks, Sal
yeah, same as me, I have deleted the CA, but can't seem to get SEARS off of me. It doesn't help that they won't talk to me about the account because it has been sold. Oh well, I guess no amount owed is better than a balance. Thanks
This is nuts, this is a not fair if they sold it they no longer own it so it shouldn't be on there. What happens if you dispute it with the CRA?
No I wouldn't settle for a $0 balance, I would call up the CRA and state Look it was sold to so and so, I took care of them, Sears continues to report the same account and it needs to be deleted also.
Kiya, I've diputed mine numerous times as well. Honestly, I don't believe we should give up on this, but there must be another angle we arent aware of to do this right. -Sal
