I have a question. If I successfully show a creditor violated the FCRA in failing to notify the CRA's that I disputed the account, how are damages dealt with? Are the damages based on the trade line not being there at all, or are they based trade line with the notation "disputed by consumer"? It doesn't seem, IMHO, that a person could be damaged by the absence of such notification. Unless perhaps the notification changes your credit score.
Any opinions in this area would be much appreciated.
