Advice to fix paid charge off

While in college I mismanaged this one credit card a bit. It ended up in collection and about 2 years ago I paid off the collection company. Unknowingly I didnt ask for deletion for payment. The Original Creditor is HSBC and the collection company is Midland Credit management. I need advice on how to remove these two marks. What is strange is I currently have an HSBC credit card which I have never paid late. I attemted to have them validate the debt twice already and recently sent out the nutcase letter about 2 weeks ago. Also on my equifax the HSBC charge off amount is $409 while the othe two state 1034 charged off. I also have one other derogatory remark on my report which is a BOA account that states "account closed at creditors request" but i paid this account, what happened was when it came time to get a new card they did this. Again this was a few years ago and I currently have a BOA card and checking account. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP AS I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH FROM THIS SITE> Thanks FRANK

You don't state if you've disputed these accounts/tradelines w/the CRAs yet..did you? If not try disputing (again?).

Second, you have to take a "nutcase letter" to the real action of suit. Threats of suit have lost thier power, now it is straight to suit.

If disputing fails, then put your case together, and go to court.

That's about the only way to deal with HSBC or BOA.

i disputed electronically to no avail. Do I have any possible leverage as I have a card with HSBC. I also think its shady that when I disputed the HSBC account with the CRA HSBC sent me a letter saying any further questions should be directed to the address listed on their letter. When I sent them a nutcase letter the letter got forwarded from that address listed in Oregon to somewhere else. Also how do you think I should put my case together. Should i file an intent to sue or notify them of my intent or how. I understand that I have them on the grounds that they are harming my credit rating but what other grounds are effective as well.

It is not illegal for them to damage your credit rating so long as what they are reporting is accurate and complete. When you disputed the tradeline previously, did they mark it as being in dispute? Is the account marked as paid? If the date of major first delinquency accurate?

These are things that can provide a cause of action under the FCRA if erroneous or absent.

I also got my free EQUIFAX REPORT and they have it as paid as agreed except for December 06 where a CA notation is inserted then paid as agreed afterwards. The date of first delinquency is blank and in the newer report as compared to the one from 9/23/07 in the type of loan box before it was listed as factoring company account(debt purchaser) now it says collection agency/ attorney. SEE BELOW.
