My wife has a sears card in good standing, but she had 2 lates about 2 yrs ago. She called for a goodwill adjustment and the rep on the phone said she would submit it and there should be no problem to get the lates removed due to their age. Well, yesterday she got a letter from them stating that they have verified the acct and the information is correct. She wasnt disputing anything though, just wanted a goodwill adjustment.

Re: advice for sears, goodwill denied??

With Sears you have to go through the executive offices. The goodwill you requested was sent to there accounting department. I did the same thing and received the same response from customer NO-service. I would send another goodwill through PFB. This will go right to the appropriate people who will give it more consideration.

Yes, I received a call about two days later saying they would remove the late payment references.
