    Hello,

I had a collection with Afni for Dish Network. I have been able to get Afni to agree to delete the collection from my credit report through validation and intent to sue letters, however, I know that Dish Network can sell the account to another CA and they can report the information on my report. I am in the process of applying for a mortgage and need some advice. I plan on applying for a mortgage within the next month. If the new collection appears on my reports, it will drop my score below the score required for a prime loan....My FICO scores are borderline at 640, 641, and 618. Do you know if I call Dish Network and settle the account will it keep it from going on my credit report as a paid collection? The collection is only $60.00. I will gladly pay for this one to disappear. Please Advise. I need to get this taken care of this week.

Thanks for all the great information and advice that you all post in the forum.

FXI148: I had a collection account but did not know it. I moved and did not realize I had an outstanding balance with Dish. When I checked my report I saw AFNI collection for Dish and paid directly to Dish. Anderson is now showing "paid". with a collection history that I was not aware of.

I sent a validation letter including a request for validation with a direct question of whether or not the account was purchased or transferred.

    Please help!!!

How did you get rid of it. I recently posted my concern and am not sure who will respond. I am a first time creditnet.com user.

    AFNI is screwing me.
