How many people are out there that have had a AMERICAN EXPRESS account, which was prevouisly deleted from their file, Re-appear as of July, on their credit? It seems this happens with Equifax more, becuase with the other CRAs will send you a reinsertion notice most of the time. It seems that Equifax has no detection mechanism for items perviously deleted.
EXPERIAN made my AMEX BLUE go BYE-BYE when I asked the N/A credit limit be changed to the correct information---->$15,500 HASN'T come back 9-12 months???
Re: American Express item re-appear American Express used to report accounts with the regular account number. Recently, in an effort to "protect" AmEx customers, they began using a different account number which they use exclusively for reporting to CRAs. So, for example: Your AmEx card number may be 3724 191999 99001. It may appear on your CRA report as 00014216662341239195. (There is apparently no relationship between the number that appears on your CRA files and the one that appears on your card.) Now... that brings us back to the question at hand which is, "Why are some people experiencing a reappearance of previously deleted AmEx accounts?" I believe the answer is this: While the account was deleted/cloaked under its old account number, it reappears under its new number because the CRA computer has no way of "knowing" that this account now being reported by AmEx is really the old cloaked account. Again, this is just my guess, because the rash of new reappearances we're seeing seems to coincide with AmEx's new policy of using different account numbers for CRA reporting. Doc
Re: American Express item re-appear combat this with reinsertion without notice if you previously had it cloaked. the CRA will actually have a reasonable defense but Amex won't and if you sue both you'll likely get it off your reports.
