To Everyone who has their loan through Americredit...

It is strongly advised you check your credit reports...namely Exp and/or EQ, becasue Americredit has updated several consumers' credit reports as having filed CH13 bk.

My husband and I had a loan through Americredit that we paid off in Feb. Never late/paid as agreed. I checked his exp report today and it has moved from good account status to ch13 filed/0 bal. Apparently when they updated this account for the month of March, it passed along false Ch13 info. He has never filed bk period. We are both on the loan, so I checked mine...nothing wrong with the info. It just shows on his.

Anyhow, I contacted Amer and they said they have no knowledge of what happened. The rep checked with their bk department and said nothing was on file...DUHH!! Anyhow, she said she would fill out another UDF form and update the info.

I have read several posts amongst the credit boards and it seems to have happened to others...1 person on the joint loan shows ch13 and the other persons info remains the same. Something I was thinking was that maybe it has something to do with who appears first on the note.

In our case, My name is first and hubby's is second.
For any of you that are having this prob, which person is it affecting...the main borrower or the joint borrower?

I am VERY pissed at Amer right now. Turns out they pulled a hard inq for me and my hubby the day after they reported this info...no pp. I dont beleive they had permission to do so because the note was paid in full the prior month. We had shopped around for a truck a couple weeks ago, but neither dealer forwarded the info to Amer.

Now, they go and do this!!!

    GRRRRR!!!

Anyhow, if you have or have ever had a loan through Americredit, I strongly advise you to check your and spouse's reports!! I am calling Americredit back today to speak with a supervisor to inform them of what has happened to several of their customers.

hmm... this sounds like a company that should go under "Credit Alerts" on the main board!

I checked my Experian indiviual, and then all three through Privacy Guard ...

so far, no change in account status.

But thanks for letting us know ... I'll keep an eye out.

    peace,
