As you know I got a Delta Skymiles before, and converted to platinum. Since Amex is regarded as equal to or better, than citibank, I felt it was necessary to do the double-back-door on Amex.

I applied for a Delta Skymiles Gold card a few days ago. Been in "Pending" State for 3-4 days...

    1. American express needed proof of my phone number. They did not accept the telephone number i gave them before for my Platinum Optima. "We're sorry that phone number shows up for someone else".

    2. Application is now being referred to credit department to set credit line. I SHOULD see my card in 5-7 days.

Now i know there is a fat chance in hizzell that i will get this card, but you never know :)

SAm has it been more than 90 days since you got the orginal delta card??

Amex told me I could not apply nor accept their preapproval for another account until 90 days had passed since my first approval.

That's odd, because I got the Delta Gold on one day, then the next night was approved for green for students.

I was told by amex new accounts that you can only have be approved for one credit card in 90 days but you could be approved for a charge card right after being considered for the credit card.

Several reps have told me it is totally random, which I agree. I've had all three checked (not at the same time) as the result of applying for various cards.
