AMEX Gold/Plat. Delta Skymiles

I currently have a AMEX BLue with a CL of 6000 and just paid off the balance of 100-200 dollars and also have a AMEX business that I have used once or twice and currently have a balance of 302.00 dollars. I received the 6000 cl a few weeks ago. It was originally 2K. I want to get the Skymiles card so I can start charging everything on the card as my wife's parents moved to FLA and she'd like to get the miles. Does anyone have any opinion on the Gold vs. Platinum card? EQ, who I believe AMEX checks in OH is currently at 697-700. Thanks for the help.

 

Thanks. In fact, I just applied online and they said they couldn't do approval online. I called, they verified my address and approved Platinum for only 2k. When I get the card, should I call them back and request an increase? I'll never carry a balance and if I'm approaching the 2k limit on my purchases, I'll just send a payment to them online. Spoke with new accounts and they asked me what limit I would want. So I figured I'd go as high as I think I should, I say 10K, and they said they would review the request and to call back Monday. Is this normal? I'm not surprised since they offered a 2k limit and my AMEX Blue is at 6K and the most expensive thing I've bought on my Business Gold was 300 dollars. I asked for such a high increase hoping they just give me5-6k.

 

Well, they told me to wait until Monday, but I couldn't and called back. The lady was very fiendly and said she would look at it while I was on the phone. Didn't get the 10K I was looking for, but they increased my 2K limit to 6350. Go figure. Maybe I should have waited until Monday I'm happy anywys.

Now does anyone have input into how do you get the most points by using this card??????
