AMEX green card? Easy to get or no?

I know for a fact AMEX looks for minimum 1 year account history plus prime score rating threshold (680+)

 

and no derog on report.

They do.

 

I got one in Jan 03 on a preapproval offer in the mail. The PRM they pulled was on EX, my FAKO Exp score was 640 with an unpaid CO from 1996, but 3-4 cards over 2 years old. They do report for me on all 3 CRA's. They report high balance, so you can fiddle with your ratios by charging alot of things and then paying off before the statement cycle ends. I am currently doing this now. Had $1200 in vacation charges, paid it to $0 and my cycle doesn't close until Jun. 20. I am hoping it will show $0 balance , $1200 high credit to help out the utilization ratio.

they have different standards for different cards believe me or ask lkh green being the easiest card to get ... I think 650 and i year of good pay history with 1 card will get you green good luck

 

I received a pre-approval a couple of years ago and was
accepted with a score of only 620. I had just finished
cleaning up my credit at the time and had no other
credit/charge cards.

It looks very impressive on a credit report too as I used it
(I use an amex starwood now mostly) like a debit card to
buy everything.

I had 2 charge offs with them and kept getting preapproval letters from them. I didn't answer because I think they were hoping to find my employment info if I applied.

They reported for me and everyone I know on all three CRA's for Green.
