I logged into my account at the Amex site and received a message that says, "Because of your standing as an Optima® Platinum Cardmember, we invite you to add an Additional Card to your account!

    Accept Pre-Approval / Learn More

    Is this guaranteed?

    Hey,

Someone else posted awhile back about this.

I think when they clicked on the link, it took them to a page that asked them for the name of the person you would like to receive the/an additional card.

I might be wrong, but I remember that post.

    Whatever happens, good luck..........

Is this a pre-approval for an "AU"? Or, am I pre-approved for another card product?

I checked out the cash rebate card and received the following:

Add this Card to the one you currently carry, and, in addition to an enhanced array of benefits and services, you'll receive up to a 2% cash rebate on every eligible purchase.

    George,

Would Amex issue an "AU" card on a product that I do not have?

AMEX invite you to apply for an additional card. I don't know why others talking about AU. You never mentioned anything about AU. They don't read your post. BTW approval is not guaranteed.

But AU is what they mean. To find out if you're preapproved for a new card for yourself, click on the "apply for a card" link, then "I am already a cardmember" then log in. It will show if you are preapproved for something else. Unless your George, of course.

    OK~~~I DIDN'T READ IT RIGHT!!!

    ACCEPT "PRE-APPROVED" MEANS NOTHING!!!

I was denied both AMEX PLAT CASH AND GOLD DELTA...686-718 F.I.C.O.

I SEE THIS AS AN "AU" INVITATION~~~GUESS I WAS WRONG!!!!------------>Additional Card to your account!

    OK CardKid,
do they invite you to apply for additional card ( new card ) or they invite you to add an user to existing account ? It's not clear to me. I am confused now.
