    Quick question.

How long does it take to get credit for the points in the program, I have been waiting a week now and I still have 0 points :(.

Do you think its worth the $40 annual fee?

The points accrue to your Membership Rewards account every time you make a purchase. However, the points are not available to you until after you have paid your AMEX bill each month. You can go to the American Express website and look up your account and can see how many points are "pending" and how many points have been earned. As for the $40 fee - it depends how much you use your AMEX card. If you are a frequent business traveler/entertainer or if you use your card for practically everything you buy(as I do) the points add up. My wife is not in the program simply because her several hundred/month card use would not be worth the fee for what you get.

Thanks for the input, Trade, but I paid my bill last week as soon as it became due and I still see no points. I will give it another week.

That is my intention also, to use it for everything.

You get the points "deposited" 30 days after the payment is made (if you made the payment on time). AMEX wants you to pay ASAP since they can't earn interest on revolving balances on the Green Card. That's their way of getting you to pay quicker. I had the same question when I got my Green Card.

    BLUE IS FREE...

    Apply for the BLUE...your $40.00 is refunded...(BLUE over-rides)...from what I have read...

Wow, thanks for the tip George!

After my first three months with AMEX, I will go for the blue card, plus you get the blue loot points right?

    George,

The Blue is not free for Membership Rewards. It is $40 to enroll in MR.

The Blue *is* free for Membership Rewards Options - which is a slightly different, and lower value, point system.

If your personal charge card is allready enrolled in Mem. Rewards (i.e. the $40 one), only then is Blue free for Membership Rewards.

If you want to enroll your personal card in Membership Rewards Options, the fee is $15 - or free if you have a Blue Card.

In my understanding, Blue Loot was transferred to Membership Rewards Options, and not Membership Rewards, unless that person had the Blue account with Membership Rewards.

I want Breeze's deal. Membership Rewards free for one year, and $15 a year thereafter.
