Anuual fee on closed account?

Is it standard practice to charge a yearly fee on an account that has been closed (at customer request) for over 2 months? Does that have to be stated in the disclosure statement that comes with the card and if it isn't, do I have recourse?

RE: Anuual fee on closed accou

Are you still making payments on the account? If so, they do have the right to charge an annual fee. The account is still considered open by their standards and they are managing the account until it is paid off. If you do not owe any money, I would write a letter to the credit card company & dispute the charge. Good luck!
