anybody able to erase all BK info?

has anybody been able to erase all BK info?

    Hello all,

I'm new here and I appologise but I have posted this same question on another board. I really need to get this question answered so I took the chance of posting in both places since the experts appear to be of 2 minds.

Has anybody ever been able to delete all references to a BK7 on all 3 reports?

I ask this because Lexington Law boldly advertises the following:

    4th Quarter Deletions (Oct - Dec 2002)

    Late Payment 26,905
    Collection 20,754
    Charge Off 13,214
    Incl. in Bankruptcy 8,623
    Closed by Grantor 4,040
    Lost/Stolen Card 1,738
    Judgment 1,735
    Lien 1,382
    Credit 1,349
    Bankruptcy 1,124
    Settlement 770
    Acct in Dispute 715
    Repossession 476
    Foreclosure 362
    Negative 184
    Cannot Locate 98
    Civil Claim 96
    Garnishment 35
    Partial Payment 25

So ok, removing 1 "BK" (9 years old) or 1 "Incl in BK" (6 years old) on 1 report for 1 person is nothing to brag about. In this case the other 2 still show them or they were about to fall off anyhow and have very little weight.

Does anybody ever get all bankruptcies and all Incl In BK off of all reports within the first few years?

Do you know of anybody that has been lucky?

I'm trying to figure out whether its even worth the effort to try.

I had the same question, Mike. I tried to pull up their 4th Q PDF files to look at their stats but my computer just stalled several times so I gave up.

I did it. I got rid of all accounts included in bk as well as the public record of the bk and 2 judgments. I now have 0 derogs and 700 scores. It took me from March or 2001 until Dec of 2001.

can i ask how you went about getting your bankrupcies off your credit reports? Did you first start with the accounts that said included in bankruptcy. Once those were off did you then dispute the bankrupcies? How many times did you have to keep disputing items? Also what reason did you put down for disputing the bankrupcies? Many thanks, Chris

With Equifax and TU I disputed the associated accts first, then the bk. Equifax removed the bk the first time as did Experian. For some reason, very few associated accts were reported with Exp. TU took several disputes of the public record, but it also finally came off.

I disputed the public record as not mine. The courts do not verify. The cra's hire people to go look up the records. Obviously, in my case, the person looking it up was an idiot or just didn't bother.

    Write, and keep a copy.
If your address has changed since the BK, dispute the BK address before disputing the BK. You might want to get rid of the IIB accounts first, then the address, then the BK. (it might be hard to get rid of the address when there are a bazillion IIB accounts linked to it, but the IIB accounts will go away if the creditors don't bother to verify them)

Has a chapter 7 always been 10 years? I thought they were 7 years before the reform laws in the late 1990's.

It's been 10yr on a ch7 for as long as I can remember, certainly before the October 1998 reforms. (those reforms were of BK law, not FCRA, that got its major overhaul with FACTA)
If you have a ch7 that's over seven years, you might try to dispute as obsolete.
