I have no derogs on TU 685 Efx 680 BUT I still cannot get credit. I cannot get any cc's due to no revolving history, can't get a car loan due to short auto loan history. So I have hit that point where I feel like having clean credit is poinless. Hell even with the worst credit in the world (pretty close to it anyway) I was able to get a mortgage. I am just ranting, I know it will take time but it is very frustrating still getting declined for everything.

PS the top factors for my scores being so low is no revolving credit.

No, I have taken too many hits already. I broke down and had dh add me as an au on his Cap1 card yesterday. I have in installment loan fm 94 an an installment loan from last year (it was actually a loan that started out secured by my truck but 2 months later they unsecured it and it is reporting as an installment) a car loan from July and a mortgage from May.

a mortgage is what my goal is. they say my score is not that important, since i am the co-applicant. my wife is primary, so her score is the one used. they jsut said i needed to have no chargeoff or collections. But now...I have zero bads on all three. I am going to get a new car after we get the mtg.

    tnobles ~

try peoplefirst.com or lending tree.... or another site with the same concept - they send out feelers and you get offers from several companies (inq's also, fyi).... you might even do a search on google for auto loans.....

I'm not advocating them for any reason except that I got excellent results.... and I got to choose the best %rate... No I don't work for them LOL - it just seems this subject has appeared lately (in case anyone was wondering).....

anyhoo - just thought it might help.... if not, ignore my ramblings..... :)

Thanx gargoyle, tried that though. lendingtree sent it to Virtual bank, declined. The bad part about is they have not even been kind enough to tell me why. Simply an e-mail saying 'Virtual Bank has declined your application' That's it, no 'go to hell' no 'yeah right' no nothing. Sorry all, I know I have had some ill posts this morning, for some reason I am in a really foul mood. I will try to watch my rantings.

Unfortunately Cap One probably won't help you much, tnobles, as they do not report credit limits.

You should be able to get a Target card with your scores...maybe GM as well.

Thanx whyspers, BUT (here I go again!!!LOL) Target turned me down b/c of an old Mervyns that I have a hundred dollar balance that I HONESTLY had no idea of, it has not been on my cr no bills no nothing. The rep told me that all of the bills were returned to them w/no forwarding address. This is from 96' I believe. GM turned my down b/c of (drumroll) INQUIRIES> See, I can't win for losing.... Y'all I am really trying to get in a better mood, please don't think I am just trying to be ugly b/c I am not, I sincerely appreciate ya'll trying to help. Like I said I know it is just going to take some time, but I have been working on my credit for sooooo long and sooo hard and the bad thing about is most of my 'baddies' were not even mine. The bureaus had mereged my reports w/my brother in laws with the same name, so I have had to work EXTRA hard to get mine cleaned up. Still nothing. Again, I apolagize for the ranting.... Didn't mean to hijack your thread trouty!

Best thing to do is a secured card. Drop some money on one of those and you should be fine. BOFA is pretty good i hear
