I had a problem with ECMC student loan company. They were reporting "included in BK." You can't include with a CH7 BK. I had consolidated and paid off from this company. I disputed with EXP and the item came back still as "included in BK." So, I sent two nut case letters to ECMC. I finally went to the Attorney General and filed a complaint. AG sent letters to EXP and ECMC. I checked today online and the 6 negative trade lines are now positive trade lines. I am amazed. My only advice is persistence, persistence, persistence. Stay on course. Try new angles. I have fined tuned my consumer knowledge from reading this newsgroup. Thank you all!!!

    EQ - (9/1/2001) 550 > 630 (3/26/03)
    EXP - (9/1/2001) 545 > 615 (3/26/03)
    TU - (9/1/2001)455 > 656 (last time I checked)

I am trying to get American Express to remove some wrong information. They sent me a letter today saying the information is correct. Should I mention in the next letter that I am going to file a complaint with the AG if this item isn't corrected? Seems like it worked for you.

I sent a letter to Merrcik bank's CS and to the bank CEO CRRR and I haven't even gotten a response by letter. My next step will be to contact my AG and the state of Utah's. Any other agencies we can contact? FTC etc.??

Here is a funny story. I originally was just going to file suit against ECMC but accidently went to the AG office instead. I figured I'd read enough at this sight about AG and decided to take this route.

File a complaint with AG. If you tell AMEX that you are filing a complaint, I don't think it will mean much to them unless you really do it. It was really simple. I could have done it online in Minnesota. It seems the reason it worked is the "officialness" of the letter the AG sent to EXP and ECMC. Is "officialness" a word? Well, it is now.

It cost $0 in Minnesota for service. That is a bargain for the result I have gotten.

I sorry I don't know of anymore agencies that work. I haven't tried any yet.

Note: I did have a paper trail when I went into the AG office.

    Good Luck

What worked for me was to write the cc company and at the bottom of the letter, put "cc:" to the ag, etc. THEN, Write a letter to the ag, etc, and cc the credit card company at the bottom of the letter. Then, put all those letters in one envelope and send it to the credit card co. This gets their attention because they think you HAVE filed a complaint...Keep copies to follow up to file complaints if you hear nothing.
