I'm happy with my everyday "domestic" card. I'm looking to get another card mostly to increase total available credit but thought it would be nice if it had some other value. This would involve things like: + who does the best currency exchange rates + no/low exchange fees + no/low cash advance fees + travel services? + other stuff I don't even know about? Diners Club and Amex Charge is the best card for travel oversea. By the way, you have to pay it off monthly except Diners Club Montage Card and Amex Optima Card Ron.
Amex, bar none. They will replace your lost/stolen card anywhere in the world. Citibank will mail you replacements only in the US (so do most card issuers) Amex has offices all over the globe and will replace US based cards anywhere, free of charge.

Re: Re: Best card for overseas travel? I don't understand the fanfare over Amex abroad. Overrated ticky-tack services that 99% of us regular folks will never need/use. Visa/Mastercard is accepted at more places overseas than Amex. I get $1m travel accident insurance with Visa/Mastercard at no cost. I have a genuine credit limit and no annual fee. Save the $75 and treat yourself to a pair of theatre tickets instead. I find Amex cheerleaders have a lot in common with people who worship Apple PCs. Draw what conclusions you may from this analogy.
Re: Re: Best card for overseas travel? Just a word of caution, my brother in law a couple of years back used his Fleet Gold on a overseas trip. The first couple of charges went off with a hitch, after that his charges were denied. Fortunately he had a back up card. When he returned home he called Fleet and inquired as why his charges were denied. Fleet's response was that it was fraud prevention thing, that he had to call them. His response was who is going to pay his long distance charges from overseas, the hassles of being denied (one of those was a big dinner with a client) and a 13 hour time difference.
