Hey guys. My BK discharged a few months ago and I'm on the road to recovery & rebuilding. So far, I have a car loan, a First Premier Platinum MC, and I just opened my Crown Jewelers account. Currently, I have a pre-paid cell phone through Cingular, but I'd like to actually have one in my name. Since I don't want to randomly apply with a bunch of wireless companies and get a bunch of inquiries, are there any wireless companies that are bk friendly? Ones that won't require a security deposit or at least, not a huge one? Any help is appreciated.
I don't know about BK friendly ones, but I signed up with Verizon a few years ago and had not so great credit (3 judgements, collections, etc...) and was able to open up an account with no deposit down. Maybe try them?
There seem to be plenty of people that get approved without deposits with all of the major cell phone companies that have scores in the mid to low 500s. Try the search function and type in "bk cell phone deposit" and you'll see a ton of threads about this subject.
I recently applied for verizon and my scores are around 500 and they wanted a deposite of 125.00. If all payments are paid on time for 1 year then you get the deposite back.
