I tried to refi last year with Cap1 and amazingly they approved me for a 14% interest rate which would've made my payments go UP about $35 a month.

Ticked me the hell off since it cost me three hards for nothing.

I'll take your 6.9% if you don't want it.

lol broncs.....what's f'd up here is that I was approved for the 6.9% for a new car and that's great......but about 3 wks ago they declined me for a refinance. This is really f'd up because for that decline, I rcvd 2 letters: 1 said that I was--

    1-too short a time since BK (it's been 2yrs, 3 mos)
2-too much derog credit (2 lates from 1998)
3-length of time installment accnts open (huh?)
    4-length of time accnts established

and then...they sent me another letter about 2 wks later stating I did not make enough money to justify another car pmt--LOL and this was a refi that would have brought the pmt down--I was actually laughing because I found it so amusing lol and then now I'm approved for an ADDITIONAL car payment hahaha

The only thing I thought of was maybe a difference due to their prime and sub-prime divisions---and it cost me 7 hards because the refi dpt then sent the application to people 1st and roadloans.com :(

Got an offer from them a few months back to refi at 11%. I called up to ask if I could get a lower rate and was told no. I 'splained that my current loan was a similar rate and I had no incentive to do this. There was no room for negotiation.

I'll keep my 12% loan w/Chase on the off chance I can leverage that "relationship" to get a credit card down the line.

I first applied for new car finance with crap 1 and got 9.9% last year, then after 2 months refinanced it with eloan 8.9%.

If you a apply for a new car with eloan first with bk in your report, they will forward it roadloan(rogueloan) for 15%. I applied again this year with crap1 but nobody would accept their check even their recomended dealers and I got it through credit union for 5% what a deal!

I've always had luck with the local credit union. They have the best deals.
