I am new to the board and would like to know what kind of results other members have had with Capital One. I have been with them off and on since 93 and have one 30 day is not helping. Can the board please share their experiences.

If possible can you please let me know where to send this letter

    Thanks!

planetfeedback. do a search and you find out it is the best way to reach cap one.

Well, daughter had super valid reasons for one 30 day late with 3 years of perfect payment records and a plan in place to assure that a traumatic life situation would not cause another late payment and was turned down. So, not real postive result on this end.

In my experience, Capital One will not do goodwill deletions unless you have them over a barrel. Nice guys. Really. But no chance they're going to lay down.

If you can find that one little thing incorrect on your CR's, though, keep driving them crazy, because they've got some sort of disconnect between their executive offices (the people who will promise you that they'll be sure to correct it right away) and the office that actually does the reporting. After awhile, they'll tire of you calling, they'll know they're on the wrong side of the FCRA (because you will have reminded them several times, right?--nicely, of course) and they'll know all about Nelson v Chase Manhattan (again, because you'll have reminded them, and often, right?). When they're good and tired of you, they suddenly become open to reasonable suggestions like "Hey, why don't we save each other a bunch of time and grief? Howzabout you just delete those old tradelines and I'll forget about all these infractions? Deal? Deal."

I wrote about exactly this experience a couple of times recently. Two old accounts times six Credit Reports equals Twelve deletions. Here's the links:

I agree with NanaC. I spoke to Mr. Cooke last week and he outright refused to remove 1-30 day late with no other late payments. He said we have to report the information correctly or something along those lines.

That's what drove me to start applying for other cards. I was really pissed off. I applied for and got a few other credit cards this weekend. They have lost a customer. I am really disappointed in Cap. One. The best thing now is I am also "prime" material so I have other choices.

What I plan to do is call during the holidays. I had a co-worker who did this. She did not speak to Mr. Cooke and whoever answered the phone removed a 30 day late. She said the person was very nonchalant and was like "okay" when she asked.

I have come to believe that the Goodwill letter is like the Roulette wheel!! Capital One was the easiest one for me. I did not even really give them a good reason as to why I was late TWICE (and within the past 18 months) and they deleted. Others have had success with companies that basically laughed at me when I requested a goodwill deletion. So, I figure, what the heck, it only costs your time to pfb, you might as well spin the wheel!!!
