Has anyone had luck with getting a decent cap1 card after having terrible credit? In other words, if you started with bad credit and they pull ar's every month have you later been able to get a decent limit once your credit was cleaned up?

How terrible? I started with an unsecured gold card from them I think I was in the mid to low 500's. Within a year I was offered the platinum at 14.9% but only got the same limit as the gold ($500). I've never had any late/overlimit fee's on the gold, but never got an increase either (been about 1.5 years).

Providian started me with $1000 and within a year I was up to $3000 automatically. I was using this card heavily to the max, but at the same time making $800 payments sometimes $1000 (company T&E that was reimbursed).

Well actually it was one of those cards where they bought an old debt. paid the debt 1st month have had that card for about 9 months, but they have been doing the ar's started out when credit scores were all 400's. Want to apply for a real cap1 now, but I am wondering if they will look back at the ar's. Scores now in the 600's.

And they (Cap. 1) will continue doing AR's. In Ca. they are pulling TU for me. Ever since I've been with them, EVERY month there is AR from Cap. 1 on my TU report. Why? I don't know, they haven't exactly been super generous with APR reductions and CL increases.
