CAs are gone. What's next?

Any CA that was on any report is now gone. The only blemish I have left is a 30d late on a Chase card. I have had only one two-day-late payment since July '05, which was some time in '06 (July or August I think). I will be sending the goodwill adjustment letter, in hopes that it works as well as the last one I sent (granted, that was sent to a bank that likes me).

Has anyone had success recently with the Citi BDD? It sounds like a great chance to get a card with a good sized limit. I'm looking for a limit between $12k and $20k, which would more than make my util. ratio comfortably low.

I feel as though I need two to three more cards to round out my credit portfolio. I think it would be a good idea to apply now; as soon as the accounts age I'll have a good sturdy foundation. Any thoughts?
