MY MY LITTLE MAN, What a temper. You need some help. First off I was just giving out a number so all the CCB customers that want to use it can, without being ripped off for .50
cents. Secondly when I have my head up my
rear I see a perfect picture of you (a big
pile of s$%^) Third why should I leave my
E-Mail for Idiots like you to fill up with
worthless crap. If you want to be rational
and talk like a human being without the temper. Well maybe we can. Fourth of all
what did I do to you to deserve your outbreak
of hostility towards me. My guess is you work
for CCB and are pissed because I gave out a
phone number that will help CCB customers
save alittle money. As I remember this site
is to help each other. So live with it
little man, go to work at CCB tomorrow and
get happy by screwing someone else, that
should make you happy again. BYE BYE KNOW!!

Maybe you people just don't get the concept.

Cross-Country bank is a secondary market lender. That means that 100% of CCB's client base is people who have had prior credit problems and no one else will extend them the credit they are seeking. Or they are first time credit users and they want to establish credit initially.

Well, all Cross Country Bank requires is that you pay your minimum monthly payment (In most cases its $35.00) every month, on or before the due date. You as a customer have an obligation to use the card as you would any Visa® or MasterCard® with an established line of credit. In return for the privilege of receiving one or both of these cards and establishing a sound credit profile.

A one time processing fee of $100.00 is charged to the card and an annual fee of $50.00 as well. If you agree to these terms than once you receive your cards, you have an established line of credit between $300.00 and $1000.00, with the charges of $150.00 as a beginning balance. This is clearly disclosed on the cardholders agreement that accompanies the plastic card.

The agreement goes on to say that if any payment is missed (since there is NO grace period) that a $27.00 late fee will be assessed. Therefore should anyone miss making a payment to CCB for any reason, the charges continue to escalate as the payments continue to be left unmade on time. Habitually paying late or not at all will result in placing the account over the limit established and another $27.00 fee is assessed. As you can see, you rare only penalized if you are LATE or MAKE NO PAYMENT and the balance escalates as does the fees. Who may I ask is at fault here?

Cross Country Bank, then begins collections efforts on day 5 of delinquency and continues until the account receives an adequate repayment arrangement, or a payment posts onto the account.

    Why you ask?

Our main objective is to keep you current, show you how to keep current and by staying current, build a credit file that you can no once again, be proud of. We place these fees on the account as an avoidance to being late, or not making a payment every month. We then call to collect the money that is owed us. We do not, EVER, and I repeat EVER, place collections calls to anyone that is current and up to date, why would we? If the cardholder took the time, upon receipt of the statement (10-15 days PRIOR to the due date) and mailed a check or called us to do a payment over the phone, would we have a need to call that cardholder at all?

The majority of chronic complainers, and payment dodgers that I see and deal with on a daily basis are the "professional Debt Dodgers" that apply for one card, make a few payments, apply for others, run them up and never pay anyone again. By not facing your monthly obligation of just $35.00 per month (or more to reduce the balance) and choosing as the alternative, to do nothing, or take it one step further. I have heard cardholders say "I'm not paying! " and then hang up. If this was your money, I ask you, would YOU call them back until YOU were paid?

CCB is a business and NOT a nonprofit organization, therefore is in the business to make money. There is a certain amount of accounts every month that just will not pay, and yes we will assess and collect these fees. This company has the potential to be a leader in the SUB-Prime lending market, along with its competitors, Providian and The Credit Store. I feel that if the public were to be informed fully that this is a 2 way street issue and that if more debtors were conscientious enough to live up to their obligations and paid the bills when their statements arrived, would there be a need to call the cardholder for payment at all? I think not!

    Thank you for your time,

    A CCB Collections Employee (CCBCollectorX)

JOHN YOUR LINE OF CRAP IS USELESS, these
people already know about CCB and how they
love to screw there customers for all they can get. Have you lost so much business lately that you have to come here and try
to BS everyone into thinking that CCB is
the best there is. CCB isn't even close
to Providian. I would rather pay alittle
more interest at Providian and feel
secure than go with CCB and be scared to death at what they might do to me and my credit no thanks I'll stay where I'm at,
and thats anywhwere away from CCB. I seen
first hand how you treat good customers.
Like someone who always paid before th due date and paid at least twice thew min.
and get screwed by a mistake that CCB admitted was there fault, but would not do what they said they would do. You are so brain washed it hurts.

RE: CCB are CROOKS the evidenc

Let me start out by stating that at no time have I ever been a client, will be a client, nor will ever consider being a client of Cross Country Bank.

In fact, I have never held, nor am I planning to hold a SUB-prime credit card period.

With that out of the way lets get down to business and your "concept".

If it were a simple matter of deadbeats, whiners and abusers on this board then it would be readily obvious and they would be routinely ignored.

You 'claim' there are no validity to these complaints, I say you are greatly misinformed and will show you conclusively why.

    1. Blame the Post Office Scam

A favorite of many sub-prime companies, made infamous by Providian who held to this LIE until the proof was rammed down their throat by the United States Post Office who with mountains of proof in their hands threatened to sue; Providian unwilling and unable to afford this financial and public loss quickly changed their tune to "it was faulty software programming" and initially settled for 20 million dollars in payments.

Not having learned this lesson CCB (and others) have continued with this PHONY "it was lost in the mail" yeah right, even in the face of certified receipts proving that the letters were delivered.

There have been various personnel from a number of credit card companies (CCB amongst them) swearing that mail is being deliberately held for the purpose of illegaly charging late fees or simply thrown out.

To this date no official employee nor officer of CCB has gone against this 'party line' overwhelming proof to the contrary notwithstanding.

    2. Cheques and money orders being held illegally again for the purpose of charging late fees. (First USA and Fleet are also notorious for this practise).

When questioned about the funds the answer is invariably "we have never received it". Again the cancelled cheques from the banks and confirmation slips from the Post Office conclusively PROVE CCB (and the others) are lying through their teeth.

    3. Illegal harassing phone calls at work

FCRA and other federal/state regulations and statutes expressively forbid this action.

Instead the laws are routinely ignored, CCB is known as one of, if not the worst abuser.

    4. CCB will routinely hold the threat of destroying one's credit history over clients heads and then as a matter of practise destory it regardless if the account is made current, paid in full or even paid in excess.

    5. Ignomously known for the extreme difficulty in closing an account. Regardless if the account has been paid in full or even a credit, CCB will attempt every illegal tactic and phony charge to prevent the accounts closure and at the very least procuring one more annual fee. Including, tacking on phony fees months later long after the account has been reported closed by the credit bureaus.

    6. CCB is planning to move its headquarters from Delware due to excessive, proven complaints and to avoid a coming investigation by the Delaware Banking Commission and the Attorney General into their practises.

    7. Cross Country Bank always lose in court

If this doesn't tell you a company is crooked..

But you can keep defending them. After all it is a well-known fact that CCB pays a much higher wage than the industry standard.

Enjoy the blood money while you can.

if all you people would pay your bills then you wouldnt have a problem with any credit card companies. ccb gave you a chance to establish credit and all complainers that are on this Creditcard Board messed up by not paying their bills and now they complain. ccb gave me a credit card i've never had a problem and i send my 35.00 in on a timely basis. if you own a business and dont pay your workers, you think your workers arent going to say anything? whats wrong with you people? i have no job and i have 9 credit cards with another one on the way (discover platinum). PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME

Caroloine, You need to learn to read young
lady. Read the complaints on this board closer. 99% of the complaints have nothing
to do with paying on time or over-the-limit.
The complaints are about theft (taking funds
out of an account without authorization)
Holding payments til it shows overdue so
they can charge fees. When they make an error
and admit it's there fault they refuse to correct for months, and any fees caused by
there error are charged to the customer,
and there words exactly are: "Once FEES are
posted on an account the customer is responsable for those FEES." Try going on
all these pages and read the complaints. I
think then you will understand why so many
people are complaining. And since you love
CCB so much and aren't working, you should
apply to them I'm sure they would cherish
having someone like you working for them.
(Someone who reacts before knowing all the
    facts.) That's CCB material.

I defended CCB too, until I learned the hard way.
Complainers? Ignorance is bliss so be happy as well as smug.

I apologize to Caroline for losing my temper. I recognize that some people don't have a problem with CCB.
But a mini-lecture on paying one's bill on time and the lable "complainer" is insulting and doesn't fit the facts.
Do not diminish the very real Cross Country abuses suffered by many others and deliver self-righteous sermons based on the fact you haven't been victimized by Cross Country (yet).

I agree with BG -- when I was first offered the card someone called me. This person NEVER even mentioned the $100 fee. Was I ever shocked when this amount was deducted from my credit line! Yes it was written in the contract but I would never have agreed to the card in the first place had the rep on the phone told me about it!
Now CCB has been nothing but trouble for this past year not only for myself but also my husband. They ignore disputed items. They ILLEGALLY charged my husband a 29% Interest rate (which is considered USARY and illegal in New York! I have since cancelled my account and yet they STILL charge me an annual fee! Why pay an annual fee after the account has been cancelled? This company is just plain EVIL!

Thanks bg, I was going to say the same thing.
Caroline, what about the ILLEGAL finance charge applied to my husband's card for example. The MAX in New York is 24.9%. They are charging 29.9%! This has been in dispute for months and instead they've gone ahead and turned the account over to a Lawyer for non-payment. While it is my husband who is entitled to a CREDIT for 2 years worth of ILLEGAL Finance charges.

Len, You are so rite when you told Caroline
Yet, It won't be long she will be here
crying and complaining with everyone else.
I wish I had a dollar for every person that
came here defending CCB only to come back a few months later saying how they where
cheated and ripped off by this Bunch of
Crooks. It is only time before Caroline
will see what CCB is really all about.
I hope it doesn't happen to her or anyone else, but eventually they will get to her
    one way or another.

Its easy to be "happy and smug" when one doesn't work and has, by her own admission, a seperated husband who pays for whatever she wants.

The one item I forgot to add in my list of "CCB's Crimes" is the unauthorized and illegal theft of funds from persons' chequing accounts. Their "reported" acts of changing check numbers just so they can steal more should be cause for a federal trial (as banks are federally licensed). In fact, if proven liable at a federal court they stand a chance of losing their operating license.

    RE: Usurious Interest Rate

Regards the maximum interest rate, I can't believe I forgot that, no wonder my friend was turned down by Aspire (their interest rate starts at 27%), we both live in New York.

BTW, for anybody that cares Aspire does a credit check soley with TransUnion.
