Thread: CENDANT and Days Inn?

This is odd. I have a few inquiries from CENDANT on my CR and I wasn't sure what they were for (softs I believe) and tonight I am online making reservations at Days Inn and their FAQ section says

"All of our hotels are independently owned and operated. Please inquire about positions within individual hotels by contacting the property directly. If you are seeking employment in our corporate offices, feel free to visit us at www.cendant.com."

What are they doing in my credit report? Do hotels check CRs or are the hotels just a subdivision of CENDANT?

Cendant has their hands in just about everything.

Why would they need a report for this.

Its probably a PRM for one of their other businesses. If its showing on Evil Ex you will have to call them to be sure.

Yes, I did rent a car a few months ago. I didn't know they would pull my credit. Why would they need my credit report if they already had my credit card for security?

Its actually showing as an AR on TU.

Cendant also has a large mortgage business. Could it have been in connection with your trying to get a mortgage?

I went to my local CU for that - and have the inquiry for them - I know they didn't outsource it because of the situation. I did rent a car (from Avis or Alamo or Enterprise? lol can't recall) around the time that this inquiry was placed, so that is probably it.

They dont pull reports for auto rentals - not that I have ever heard of. Cendant is a huge corporation - They own:

So, my thoughts would be this... if you used any of their real estate services... your broker automatically ran your credit thru their mortgage service. I know that realtors here do it - without peoples permission.
