I have had so much success with deletions, thanks to this board! However, there is one entry that simply won't go away. I've tried many tactics, including multiple disputes, but now I'm going to have to get creative. OK, here's the situation: I filed a petition for BK13 in 1995, but decided not to go through with it, so it was dismissed. Now--8 years later--it is still being reported by Equifax. Their policy is to report "non-discharged" bk13's for a full 10 years. (OK, that's real fair). I think I've hit a wall as far as disputing it with them. They refuse to reinvestigate as it was "previously verified".

Here's my new angle: I'm getting married soon and will be changing my name. I've read on this board that the CRAs must verify 2 out of 3: name, ssn & address. Well, my address now is different than the one I "filed" at. And my name will be different. Obviously, I can't escape the SSN--it's all over the bk public record. So, here are some of my questions:
    1) Has anyone had personal experience deleting this way?
    2) I know Experian keeps a record of all names and permutations of names, etc, but I don't see where Equifax does that. Can anyone say?
    3) On my EQ report I don't see my old address from 1995--does this mean it's not in their database, or is it just "hidden"?

    I really appreciate everyone's help!

Some CRA's have my name from the jerk I divorced 15 years ago. They refuse to delete it.

I'm not saying it won't help- but it sure hasn't helped me!

When I filed BK in 1996 I was not yet married. But, all 3 CRAs have been able to verfiy the stupid thing multiple times- I've almost given up hope of ever getting rid of it.
