Thread: Charge-Off Deletion

I think read on this board way back when that if you dispute a charge-off that has been on your CR for 6 years (they stay on 7), the CRA will most likely delete it without investigation.

Has anyone had this experience?

I have 3 c/o accounts on eq with a last inquiry date of 11/94. Two are with bank one the other with fcnb. I have disputed these over and over with little success. I finally got one of the bankones deleted on 6/01. On 6/23 it was reinserted. Equifax said this was done at the creditors request. I keep hoping eq will give up because they are so close to 7 years old but no such luck yet.

One of my Experian verifications on my last round of disputes was a chargeoff that is due to fall off my report in May 2002. Looks like I'll just have to wait it out.
