Hi all, If you are a current Chase cardholder, you have a good chance to get the 0% on BTs for 12 months - even if the promotion is not advertised on your account online. Call 1-800-345-8089 (many thanks to Platinum) and ask if it is available. A rep from this dept. said that starting last week Chase was giving these offers out like crazy to just about everyone (guess Citi is doing some damage, heehee...). There is a BT transaction fee, but if you balk at that, they will waive it. I've had my Chase for almost one year. Started with $3000, then took it to $5000 with a BT last month. Called the credit dept. tonight and asked for another $1000 to do the BT and they raised it to $6000 on the spot - no inquiry...
Marci, A frind of mine got the offer some time ago. I asked in April and in June by email using the Chase website "was not available on my account". Someone here mentioned the Chase 0% again ..about 3 or 4 weeks ago.. so I had hubby call they said not yet but as it got closer to the holidays keep an eye open for mail. We have a Chase with a 8200 CL held since last December.. and these are our currents. WWYD? Citi-Bank 3.9% for life 6080 CL 6400 Discover Platinum 4050 CL 6,000 0% until December Discover Titanium 7950 CL 9000 0% until January note..to make some obligations. I am going to have to borrow 1,000 about the 1st of November, I was going to write self a check against Discover Titanium. Cherie
Cherie, I recommend calling the number I listed above to see if the promotion is avaialble. If it is- and that is IF - then regular customer service will not tell you about it. This dept. will tell you about it, as it is a kind of retention. Act upset about something, but be nice, and see what the rep says. As I said, the rep told me that they started handing these 0% offers out last week. If your husband tried to get it 3-4 weeks ago, it is worth a try to call this dept. now. your mileage may vary...
Marci, I mention this to hubby this morning as he went out early. He had to go to a job 31/2 hours a way and will likely be late tonight. He is the account holder so he will have to do do the calling. Since the debt that I would interested in moving would be the Discover Titanium. @ 7950. I wonder if we would be better off waiting a while longer. (since the Discover is giving me 0% until January anyway)or.. on a second thought maybe I could get this offer and then move our Discover 0% until December to the Discover Titanium. I called that number and got the nicest person. He was a CSR supervisor. I changed from Visa to MasterCard but when they changed it they didn't convert the same interest rate 7.9% it was 14.15%V. He changed it to 6.9% for my trouble. He did the 0% for 12 mos. with no BT fees. And he submitted a CL increase with the BT so it will probably go through. I am so happy I called and I want to thank you for posting this # and info. I was so happy and impressed I wrote a letter to his supervisor. He was alot nicer than Mr. Cooke. And I BT'd my Cap. 1 acct. So it should help my ratios.
We got it too! Thanks for sharing the info. I requested our Discover Titanium paid out of $7950. Our current Chase CL is 8200, we also requested and additional 3800 to make the CL 12,000. Will be notified by mail. Does anyone know how quickly they do the BT's. I forgot to ask the representative. Oh, and also we talked to a very nice, sweet man too! He was so joyful.. made my day that someone was letting their light shine like that - even through a telephone call. Cherie

Update... I checked the Chase website and info this morning.. and ta da.. got the additional 3800 increase for a total of 12,000 CL.. Wanted to use ALL the available credit (4050) for an additional transfer but the rep said we could only use up to 11,800. - Shucks What a BLESSING!! 11,800 @ 0% FOR A YEAR!.. It pays to keep a clean credit history.. and sorry ( dana) if you are out there.. but it also pays to PRAY! Cherie
I checked my acct. online and I got my credit line increase but they pulled a hard :-( and I lost 17 pts. fake points!! I think I'm going to call them and see if they will remove it.
