Hi, my first post here. I recently applied for a Chase credit card about 2 weeks ago, online. I received a message saying something about a 30 day decision. I found a number to call an automated number, 1-800-432-3117, to check the status (I hate not knowing) of the pending application. Well, I called it, it asked asked for my SS#. After I entered it, I thought I was going to get an automated "you've been approved!" or a "sorry, denied" message...but no...the recording/computer voice told me that I was being transferred to an operator. I hung up because I really do not feel like listening to someone tell me DENIED! I prefer the computer voice or a letter. Does Chase have an online status check? If anyone knows, thanks alot.
Don't be scared of the phone. They may need further verification info before they can make a decision.
I second that. A lot of final approvals are done over the phone. Sometimes that might be the decididng factor when they talk to you and they may need some additional info. Perfect example-i was offered a loan because I am a doctor to "grow my practice" sure, they just want me to spend it on things I do not need. The initial offer was $25000, they called me to confirm the info I gave them over the internet and the lady said, congrats you have been approved for $47000. Call them and talk to them-it can only help you.
Well, I called them back today, at a decent hour...last night it was 1 a.m. or so. anyway. They just said I was still being reviewed, nothing more...or less. Gave me the 7 to 10 thing...it was thirty days, so I guess that's a little better. I don't think I was scared, just wasn't in the mood to hear DENIED right before going to bed lol. thanks guys....cool forum here. I've been on other sites, this one is the best so far.
