It was an incredibly long wait, more than 4 weeks. When I called them , the rep said they were back logged. Maybe now they aren't experiencing any problems and you will get your card quickly.

I called (801) 743.2030.You have to apply for reg. basic card and if you get turned down then the rep. will offer the "Credit Builder" program, where you'll have to mail in the annual fee between$30-$50.00. Depends on which level you fall under. I have pretty Shi%%y credit at the present and was surprized that the rep.even offered the "CB" card. Good luck!!!!!!!

I just mailed my signed agreement and $30 last Thursday to some address in Concord, CA which is 50 min from where I live. So I'm wondering how long also.

Well I applied and got denied for Both options, they said my score was too low. They used Experian which is my worst report. I can't believe that, because I got approved for the Target card last year. I have perfect credit for the past two years. If your "score" is not high enough you will not get the credit builders card. I do not have any judgements or BK. Just two charge offs that are four years old. And a few paid collections (s.loans). I will have 3 items fall of in November, do you think I should have an updated copy of my report sent to them, you know how you have that option through the credit bureau, and if I do that will that count as another inquiry?

    Here's an idea for Molly.....

Why don't you just call (800) Freeapp and recheck the status of your application? Tell them that the last time you called the rep stated that they mailed out info to you about the credit builder card and you never recieved it???? Just a thought....

I don't know how I was approved for the credit builder either. My bad credit is paid but during the time that they ran a bureau, it didn't not reflect that. I can't recall what bureau they pulled but I have a $1200 judgement on 2 out of 3 bureaus (Experian and Transunion). Maybe they pulled from Equifax? Humm....

    Forgot to mention....

Apply for the regular gas card and if you are denied, they will send you and invatation for the 'Credit Builder' card (if you are approved). The invitation will come in the denial letter. It will say something along the line of: "We regret that we cannot approve you for a Chevron card, HOWEVER we value your business blah blah blah.....". Some people have been denied even for the credit builder card. The difference between the regular and credit builder is that the credit builder comes w/ an annual fee and the minimum payment is higher. The credit limit is lower also. My credit was dust and I was approved for a $300 limit!

    They Pulled Equifax on mine!

I think that's the only reason why I got approved for the credit builder card. I guess Equifax is considered to be my strongest file since my judgement isn't listed on there.
