Thread: ChexSystem-Removing Items?

I read a post in which someone recommended offering to pay an old NSF check if the bank would agree to remove the item from ChexSystems. I'm wondering if anyone has had luck doing this and how difficult it was.

Also, does a CA have the authority to remove an item from ChexSystems or can the removal only be requested/ordered by the OC bank?

DH has two items on ChexSystems and he has been contacted by CAs regarding them. He went to a local branch of one of the banks to pay one of the items and they could not find a record of it. Since the bank could not find a record of it, should he request a validation of that one from the CA and then contact ChexSystems to have it removed if the CA can not validate it?

I don't know if this will be much help but I'll try.

Once you are in ChexSystems trap you are stuck there for 5 years. BUT in your friends situation I would definitely send a Request to Remove Form to ChexSystems.

There are forms for situations like your friends. If the bank has no knowledge of his NSF than it definitely can be disputed and most likely removed if not definitely.

Have him send a form to chexsystems with his dispute. I have the forms here from recent software I bought If you need them let me know I'll email them too you.

I could also give you the website address of a great company that helped me out. I don't want to put the website address here because people think I am advertising it for some reason. I posted it on the board Non ChexSystems Banks to help others but get nothing but neg stuff thrown at me. The company helped me out thought I'd help others...

Please DO NOT PAY ANYONE to remove items from Chexsystems. You can send them a dispute letter the same as a CRA and they have to follow the FCRA just as they do. I have disputed and had a little success. I still have one that keeps coming back verified. But you can do it just as you do the CRA's and don't have to shell out alot of money.
