Citi goodwill adjustment?

My only true derog is a 90+ days late and "closed by credit grantor" on my first CC, a Citibank Visa. It's about 5.5 years old and I can wait for it to fall off.

Naturally I no longer have that card, but I have an AT&T Universal account in good standing, with some age. Since this is a Citi card now, would it be possible for me to get a "goodwill deletion" through this side door (and would they be willing)?

    Insight invited.

I just disputed a CITI account as never late, and it worked for me.

I managed to get goodwill adjustments (didn't know they were called that!) through Capital One and FCNB by writing letters stating that the info. did not match my records, I worked hard to maintain my good credit, was purchasing a home, and I was sure would have a need for their services in the future to buy stuff for my house. It worked. It can't hurt to try. Plus, at that age, I would imagine that stuff is on microfiche somewhere in a cave in Nevada! My cap one was 3 years old and FCNB was around the same when they were adjusted.

Absolutely. PschyDoc just resurrected this letter of mine that I wrote back in May 2001 to get a paid charge off deleted from my account. Since you have the AT&T Universal account now, this letter is perfect for you (modified, of course).

I sent it via www.planetfeedback.com addressed to Mr. Weil at "Citibank N.A." and got a phone call the next day from the Office of the President. It was deleted in one week.

Oh, and don't both contacting their credit reporting dept. They sent a me a "we will report this for 7 more years" letter the same day I recieved the deletion letter from the Office of the President after I faxed them the same request. They are hard as ice! Only go through the Office of the President.
