I logged on Citi accountonline and click on the limit increase for both of my Citi Dividend Select and Click Citi Platinum Select MC. The computer increased Citi Dividend Select from $5000 to $6500 and Click Citi Platinum Select Platinum Select from $10000 to $12000 without pulling any credit report. No increase for my Sony Platinum Select Platinum and AT&T Universal Cash Rewards Card.

    allen074,

It told me it increased my credit limit without pulling any credit report. If they pulled credit report, they would ask you for income and filling out the form. They usually pull credit from TU.

If you are getting an auto-increase (no hit) it says "Congratulations blah blah blah .... and at the bottom of the page are buttons that say "accept" and "decline" you click on accept, and you've got an increase.

If if gives you a form to fill out, that means no auto increase, and if you fill it out, you will get an inquiry.

I got a citiAA gold and silver card in September. My limits are $5200 and $3000. How long do I have to wait before I could request an increase???

    Mike,

You have to wait 6 months after opening for an increase !!! Thereafter they may increase it every 3 or 4 months.

George, my hubby was told that also! He did the BDD and got $18,000 on a Plat. Select.

I'm not sure about that anymore.... just pulled my hubby's TU report the other day since we hadn't pulled it in a few months.... there was a hard inquiry from Citi... I was just poking around the website a while back (Oct) and clicked on the increase link... didn't fill anything out, was no automatic increase, but lo and behold, there's a hard inquiry from doing that. Can't see any other reason that there would be a hard inquiry from Citi.

Yes, I have heard that a couple of people have had that happen. I don't know what the difference is, or why a few people do get hit for just clicking on the main "increase" link. For a while I was afraid to try mine again. But it only happens to certain people, and we don't know why...

A few months ago the same thing happened to me
".. I was just poking around the website a while back and clicked on the increase link... didn't fill anything out, was no automatic increase, but lo and behold, there's a hard inquiry from doing that...."

    But!!
I did try it now and it has a different behavior :) I've got the message that my credit line was increased without a CR being pulled.

Maybe Citi did some improvements to the site :)

Or.....did something change regarding your situation? Pay down balances, etc? It would be good to know if something in particular changed it.
