I got my Citi platinum in January and it is now showing up on Experian but with N/A as my credit limit. I expected this but has anyone had success by sending the cra's a copy of your statement to force the limit on? If so, does it "disappear" every time Citi updates? Iv
If you have the Citi AAdvantage World Platinum you can get EQ to show the credit limit but EX absolutely will not. It took me about 3 letters/faxes insisting on COMPLETE and accurate as per FCRA and finally they added the CL. I used the exact same strategy with EX and they refuse to include the CL - they just keep sending me new reports saying the account "remains". When EQ finally updated the CL my score soared (it is a $15,000 CL so really helped the FICO ratios)
Oh, by the way...with those letters/faxes I included copies of my original credit agreement showing CL as well as 3 months of statements (with purchases, etc., whited out)
Ivan, Have you tried contacting Citi and asking why they aren't reporting the limit? Hubby, also got a Citi card in January and it's showing the CL on all three reports. If Citibank won't update it I would dispute it with the CRAs and enclose a copy of your statement with the CL circled. I had to do this with Amex (who refused to report my CL). After three months I finally got all three reporting the CL. TransUnion is the easiest to work with in my opinion, Experian is second, and Equifax is the hardest to deal with. My first suggestion would be to try Citibank and ask their reasoning. There should be no reason they're not reporting. Dani
From what I understand, Citi only does this with their "World" card products. These products have a stated credit limit but one of the features is that you CAN go over your credit limit without over-limit fees, etc, subject to restrictions and conditions. I also have a Citi Select Platinum and it DOES report the CL and always has. Others have the Citi AAdvantage Gold and Silver which DO report the limits. Only the "World" products do not unless you insist that they do.
Thanks all. I just received my first statement so I will try to get Citi to report the limit. If I have no luck, then I will write to the cra's. Iv
