I received a letter from CitibankSD (as I had applied for a Citi AAdvantage Master Card) the other day requesting the following information:

    1. most recent residential phone bill (original)
    2. copy of 1 of the following: bank statement, credit card statement or utility bill other than phone bill
    3. a copy of most recent pay stub.

My question is if I send these items are they going to approve me? Have they already looked at my credit before requesting the additional info and have they determined whether I qualify or not. I'm asking because I applied previously and was turned down. The letter says to continue processing they need the addl info. Now my question is if they were not going to approve why bother to ask for the addl info.

    Please share your opinion.

Yes they will approve you. They don't ask for this info then kick you to the street. (unless the info doesn't jive)

Good luck! call them up and ask if you can fax the info they usually accept that.

That is USUALLY true that they DON'T waste time asking for "EXTRA" stuff if they are going to DENY YOU...

    # 1 ORIGINAL PHONE BILL...I DON'T THINK SO...COPY AND SEND IT TOO THEM AND EXPLAIN THAT YOU HAVE NO PROOF OF THE BILL IF THEY HAVE IT, AND YOU NEED THE STUB FOR THE PAYMENT!!!
    # 2 ASKING TOO MUCH...
    # 3 FINE

THIS IS A MORTGAGE FOR A $250,000 HOUSE RIGHT????
OH...A CREDIT CARD??? YOU GOTTA' BE KIDDING!!!

Identity, address, verification of a bank account. They don't waste time like that if they aren't going to issue the card. I would send it. They'll let you fax it.

    jtw,

Two weeks ago, Everbank sent me a letter to ask for utility bill. I sent the utility bill to them After two weeks, they approved it and get the card from the mail. Usually they asked for more info, you have a good chance to get the card.

Well you guys were right. I called citibank today after only 5 days and they rec'd my information today and they said I was approved for $2,500.. and that I would have my card within a few days.

I'm not a prime card holder with the best. It's nice to know I got approved and just the other day after applying for dell computer I got $5,000.

It's unbelievable... these computer models are definately unpredictable.
