Citibank HELP ME PLEASE!!!

    Here's my dilemma with Citibank:

I have a chargeoff with them from 9/1997. They are listing my report along with the CA of the week.

Everytime I dispute with the CA, they immediately take off their entry, but without fail, another entry comes up with a different CA the next month.

I have disputed this off 3 times. Now, another CA is back with about twice as much interest than the one before!

So, what is going on here? Is the CA not willing to deal with dispute and just take it off and kick it back to the Citi Credit Dept., or can they not get the info from Citi?

I've read several times on this board that Citibank keeps stellar records (but not so stellar if you Ken Lay and Enron lol) and that disputes always come back validated.

What in the heck should I do? I'm tempted to validate with Citi, but I don't feel like having them breathing down my back now that this is going to fall off in a year and a half. I would settle if I thought I could get a deletion, but it sounds like they aren't into deletions.

But, I don't know what's going on with all of these CA's after this debt.

    HELP!!! Thanks Guys :)

What are the CA names you are seeing? There are a couple that just switch to another one of their names, but it's not really another company, it's the same company.

Well, I know that 3 years ago NCO held it,

This year it's been to Portfolio Recovery and The Bureaus.

I think The Bureaus bought a citibank portfolio -we have two with them right now. They sent me a sickening sweet letter on both accounts in the past couple of weeks or so, after calling and leaving voice mail months ago on several answering machines. (only one machine was mine)

I requested validation on both, especially since they had different amounts and acct numbers on the CR. After the first letter arrived, i requested validation on both CR entries, then 2 days after the faxes went, i got the same form letter for the second account.

I should know within a couple of weeks if citi has good records.

Sounds fishy to me. The Bureaus has been a pain in the butt.

Anyone else have experience with Citi deleting?
