    Am I understanding this...

    Charged off account,
    Collection company stepped in,
    I settled with the collection company,

    The OC is listed on CR with a tradeline
    'Charged off.Account paid less than full balance'
    OC sends two letters stating 'after researching our records we cannot clearly determine your responsibility for the account'

    Dispute with CRA 2x
    Both were verified

    Certified letter sent to OC for validation
    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
    ok, with that, my next step should be to dispute AGAIN with the CRA, right?

    How many days does the OC have to remove negative reportings to the CRA after the green card has been signed?

    HELP PLEASE...
    ...because of your INSPIRATION, I know that tomorrow will be JOYFUL!
    (and my CREDIT will be GREAT)

    Re: Clarification of Validation...

    I think this is why many here likes to settle with CA's
    because first of all the're just looking to make some money for themselves. The OC's standing with you and your credit woes mean nothing to them. WHen they settle for less is because they have made their easy money and they leave the balance still open for collection by the OC directly or through another CA. It's totally up to the OC's dicretion if they want to come after you for rest of the balance. It also depends on your "agreement" with the CA. WHat they wrote on it.
