I have a collection listed on my CRs that was verified by TU and Equ. I contacted the CA that is reporting the info as I was trying to understand why it is on my report. Anyway, I asked them what type of backup do they have that supports this collection acct., and their response was that this is an old collection and they do not have any backup related to this other than their computer screen printout!!!! Also, they said that I would need to go back to the original OC (a utility co.) to get this info WTF? How could this be verified if the only proof they have is a computer screen printout???
When you dispute as not mine, all they do is confirm that the CA has your name & address/ &/or SSN. Hence, verified. That is why we send validation letters.
