    Folks,
    I have 2 citi cards.

    3000CL 19.9 int (7 years old)
    2400CL 10.9 int (6 months old)

If I combine them to get the lower interest will that wipe out my 7 year old credit history?

    thanks for the help,
    Bill

Call retention and tell them you want to combine lines, keep the history, and get the best interest rate. Do the search for citi retention on this board and you will get the phone no. They are usually more helpful than regular customer service.

Yes you can combine the 2.4 k into the other card with the 7 yr history. No problem just call.

They will close the 6 months card and add the 2.4k to the other card for a total 5.4k.

Try to negotiate that high 19% interest rate before you do anything.

    Hi,

    Quick question:

I was rcently approved for the AAdvantage platinum select world card. I actually traded it for the Platinum Select Dividend card (no annual fee), but I was now wondering is it still possible for me to apply and get approved for a second card this soon?

    Hi George,

Well I applied for the last one about 2 weeks ago so is applying again still ok? and I can still possibly get approved again?

I'm assuming this cant be considered a BDD.

    Thanks
    Sal

    2 min apart is BDD...

    BUT it might work anyway...

    You might get ANOTHER card

Why not just convert your older card to another citi card? I just converted my higher interest 2 year old card to a lower interest Platinum select and kept the same account number and history. This way you get to keep two good lines open (not losing any good open lines) and lower your interest rate.

You might want to also ask (after you get your new card in the mail) to increase your credit limit before activation.

    Agreed.

DW combined Citi smart card (3 years) to dividend card (5 years) for a total cl of 29K. smart closed by consumer and divident retained history and reflects new cl.

Should not be a problem, good luck.

When I did it there was AASILVER + AAGOLD and I opened 2 windows at the same time and typed all the answers at the same time on BOTH applications and sent them 2 min apart...

"IF" I got CONGRATULATIONS on the first one I did the second one...

Some just did BOTH even if they got the 7-10 day message (or 30 days or what-ever message)

Some even got the cards with an instant SORRY
