Normally...I don't post very often, however, I read the boards quite often. I lack the discipline to follow the steps to cleaning my credit, such as following up when I get the standard verified letter. But...over the course of the last year I have had some success. I have gotten deletions. My TU seems to always be the one that will not budge. Another problem is that most of my negative items all say "included in bk" and to me are harder to dispute. If anyone has any ideas for me to try then I am definitely up to hearing them.

Anyway...I wanted to share a major success that I have had. I had a bk7 that was discharged in 1999. The bk7 shows on all three reports and I have been unsuccessful with disputing. However, on my EXP report there was an obvious error in the filing status. So...last month I again tried to dispute on the valid grounds that the information reported was indeed in error. To my surprise this time it worked and when I logged into my CreditWatch today the bk7 was deleted. I am so happy. Does anyone know when my scores will reflect this?

In light of this I am looking for suggestions on how to finish cleaning up my credit. Especially ideas on how to get the "included in bk" accounts removed. This had given me some much needed confidence and motivation to start my fight again.

The posts are this board are great and everyone is always helpful. I hope to continue to gain knowledge from here.

    Welcome!

I have had a lot of deletions, something like 75 of them; I lost count. But none had anything to do with a BK. So I can't answer your questions directly. What I can do is encourage you to keep going and give you a few pointers.

For starters, remember that the Search button is your friend. I have seen so many people talk about how they got this or that deleted that had been par to fo their BK, that I know it has been and can be done. So, do your homework, and do what's been successful for others. Ask lots of questions; the more specific, the better. Dive into other threads, start more yourself. Ask questions. You'll get answers.

The thing you always need to remember, nj, is that you can put together a plan of action to better your credit scores, and reap the rewards. You've already tasted some success, so hang on to that and read, study, and build out a plan of attack. It's got to be yours. We'll help as best we can, but it's got to be your plan for your situation. The beauty of it is that there is nobody out there making a plan of attack on How To Keep nj_newbie Down. That, in and of itself, gives you the upper hand. You care whether you succeed. The bad guys don't. They've got other things to think about besides you. Make your plan and execute. It'll work.

    Good Luck!

    Quixote,

Okay...I'm really pumped now. I'm reading your post and thinking YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT and hearing the Eye of the Tiger song in my ears (LOL!!!!!). Thank you some much for those encouraging words you have helped to affirm my quest in credit repair.

    Thanks again.
