    CRA & BBB Complaint

I was discussing an issue with jam earlier on another thread I was unable to locate it again.

question in regards to filing a complaint with the BBB is TU main office located in PA? I know they have a location in CA but which area do I search for the proper BBB to file in.

same question for EXP is corporate located in allen TX ?

I was just reading another posting as well saying to serve the SOS on behalf of the CRA if they are not registered ?

    has this been done before?

    CRA & BBB Complaint

    Nope, and nope... :)

    TU - Chicago, IL
    EX - Orange, CA
    EQ - Atlanta, GA

I just pulled up TU's yesterday to try to find out which BBB, I need to use. :)

If you just select the state, their entry should pop right up in the BBB results.

    CRA & BBB Complaint

I actually learned that EX's corporate was in CA, by reading a few posts on lawsuits that members filed against them. TU will tell you that any litigation related issues need to go through Chicago.

    Re: CRA & BBB Complaint

Address as provided by the BBB followed up with corraboration from the Federal Trade Commission... Ok, I think I'm getting too used to researching... :)

    :)

    EXPERIAN
    500 City Parkway West
    ORANGE, CA

    http://www.ftc.gov/os/2000/01/experiancmp.htm

"4. Defendant Experian Information Solutions, Inc. is an Ohio corporation with its office and principal place of business located at 505 City Parkway West, Orange, California 92868. Experian's National Consumer Assistance Center is located in Allen, Texas. Experian is subject to prior orders of the Court in the Northern District of Texas related to the FCRA."

    TRANS UNION LLC
    555 W. Adams
    CHICAGO, IL

    http://www.ftc.gov/opa/predawn/F93/transunio7.htm

"Based in Chicago, Illinois, Trans Union is one of the three major credit bureaus in the United States."

    EQUIFAX, INC.
    1550 Peachtree Street NE
    ATLANTA, GA

    http://www.ftc.gov/os/2000/01/equifaxcmp.htm

"4. Defendant Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc. is a Georgia corporation with its office and principal place of business located within the Northern District of Georgia at 1600 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30309"

1550 & 1600 Peachtree Street are both their address, 1550 is the address listed by the BBB, 1600 is the address listed by the FTC, I know that there is some type of difference between them, but I forget which. With as many heads as Eq has, its hard to keep track. :)

    Re: CRA & BBB Complaint

For service, I think you are still to use the Agent of Service; but basically, when you serve the agent of service, they just forward it on to their HQ.

TU basically just clams up and tells you, you need to talk with Chicago if you mention a suit... ;)

    Re: CRA & BBB Complaint

thx jam for all the great info :)

My last ditch effort is to file a complaint with the BBB against the CRA as you suggested and include a mini book for them to read. if that doesn't work I will file suit.

how long did you say it took them to respond to you?

    Re: CRA & BBB Complaint

well, the process goes like this...

EQ, the BBB office sent a form almost immediately, completed that, and mailed the 70+ page dispute with it. - The BBB took about 2 weeks to read over it, meanwhile the day after I filed the complaint with the BBB, they verified it with the company based on the initial complaint (and made a lot of other changes to my credit report). However, the day after the BBB sent the file to them, they sent a response that it had been deleted based on the dispute.

EX, the BBB sent the initial dispute to them 3 weeks ago, on Tuesday I received the form to fill out, I e-mailed the BBB on Tuesday, and today I mailed the package to the BBB office. So I am expecting about 2 weeks to read the packet, and hopefully get a favorable response immediately... :)
