    Credit Clean-up Services

Hi all. I just tried to buy a used car (2002 civic DX - worth 12k - with 3k down, and 20% interest - a low-end economy car is going to cost me $275/month for 60 months - pays to have good credit kids.). They pulled my eqfx report. to my suprise - there was 16 derogetory tl's - all from the same company, all for $35 or less! I have never heard of the company before. I almost shat myself. My score was 487. I have heard that there are 'services' that provide 'methods' to clean up your credit using loopholes, etc. Anyone have any experience with this? How is it done? Does it work?

They really don't do anything for you that you can't do for yourself. All you need to know is around this board, you just need to read up. Start with the primer posted above.

They never take it off the report when we make it right so why should we take it off the docket when they do?

You can clean it up yourself for FREE! Don't pay someone to do it as they can't do anything (legally) that you can't do.

First obtain all 3 CR's and take a look at them.
Read this board...it is a very good wealth of information.
    Ask questions....
Take a deep breath and work on each TL...
If the information isn't yours then dispute it as "not mine." If not verified within 30 days it should be removed.

Just don't pay someone to do this cause by reading here and following everyone advice you should be able to handle it all yourself for free.

I agree. Order your credit reports. I think it's better to get a hard copy from each bureau the first time. While you're waiting, read the threads at the top of the board several times. Then come back and ask specific questions.

Let us know who has put this info on your report, we may have some pointers based on that.
    The Answer is 42!!
